The desert locust was mainly found in southwestern Yemen, eastern and southern Ethiopia, southern of Sistan Va Baluchestan province in Iran, and southern of Baluchistan province in Pakistan.

From March to early May 2022, desert locusts in Ethiopia were mainly distributed in the southern Oromia state. The total damaged vegetation area in March and April was 36.8 thousand hectares, including 2.0 thousand hectares of cropland, 4.5 thousand hectares of grassland, and 30.3 thousand hectares of shrub.

Occurrence areas of rust and aphid are estimated to reach 25 million hectares, will mainly occur in India, Russia, United States, Kazakhstan, Canada, Pakistan, Turkey, Iran, Ukraine, France, Germany, Morocco, Poland, Afghanistan, Romania, Spain, Italy, United Kingdom, Iraq and Uzbekistan.

From January to early-mid April 2022, desert locusts in Yemen were mainly distributed along the Red Sea coast and the Gulf of Aden coast, and a small number of locusts were distributed in the interior of Yemen.

In January 2022, the desert locusts in Somalia were mainly distributed in the northeast, followed by a small number of desert locusts in the northwest. The total damaged vegetation area was 91.7 thousand hectares, including 38.9 thousand hectares of newly damaged vegetation area.

In December 2021, the desert locusts inSomalia were mainly distributed in the north and south, with a total of 201.1 thousandhectares of vegetation damage area.

In November 2021, the desert locusts inSomalia were mainly distributed in the north.
