The 4th Conference on Remote Sensing of Vegetation Pests and Diseases (2023) will be jointly organized by the Aerospace Information Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Grassland Research of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Center for Biological Disaster Prevention and Control of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration in August 2023 in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia. The conference focuses on the research progress and development trend of remote sensing and other space information technology in the monitoring, early warning and control of vegetation pests and diseases, including theories, models, methods, systems and applications. It covers various fields such as remote sensing, plant protection, ecology, environment, meteorology, artificial intelligence and ethics of science and technology, and involves pests and diseases monitoring and early warning, green prevention and control, biodiversity conservation and ecological and environmental security assessment in the fields of agriculture, forestry and grass industry.

        The conference aims to promote multidisciplinary crossover and a high degree of integration between industry, academia, research and application, and to promote theoretical research, methodological innovation, technology promotion and application demonstration of remote sensing in the field of vegetation pests and diseases. To facilitate the global collaboration across a wide range of communities and promote development of novel AI-enabled applications in agriculture, forestry and grassland, addressing food security and sustainability, we will continue hold “Global Challenge of Crop Disease Diagnosis (Beyond Visible Spectrum: AI for Agricultural Challenges), jointly organized by Manchester Metropolitan University and AIR-CAS. More details will be announced next round of notification. In addition, special issues in《Frontiers in Plant Science》, 《National Remote Sensing Bulletin》and《Journal of Agricultural Big Data》will be published, and we invite contributions from domestic and international colleagues!
