To facilitate the in-depth applications of remote sensing technology in intelligent plant protection, disaster monitoring and forecasting, ecological security, etc. The cross-disciplinary integration and technology innovations of monitoring, early warning, prevention and control of vegetation pests and diseases will be fully investigated. It is to promote the theoretical innovations and industrial applications of remote sensing of vegetation pests and diseases, and to build an ecological civilization, pursue the harmonious coexistence of man and nature and build a community of all life on Earth. The 4rd Conference on Remote Sensing of Vegetation Pests and Diseases 2023, will be jointly organized by the Aerospace Information Research Institute, the Institute of Grassland Research of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Biological Disaster Prevention and Control Center of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, etc.
The conference focuses on the research progress and development trends of remote sensing and other space information technology in the monitoring, early warning and control of vegetation pests and diseases, including theories, models, methods, systems and applications. It covers various fields such as remote sensing, plant protection, ecology, environment, meteorology, artificial intelligence and ethics of science and technology, and involves pests and diseases monitoring and early warning, green prevention and control, biodiversity conservation and ecological and environmental security assessment in the fields of agriculture, forestry and grass industry.
The conference aims to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and in-depth integration of production, academia, research, and application, advancing the theoretical research, method innovation, technological dissemination, and application demonstration of remote sensing in the field of vegetation pests and diseases. To further promote collaborative exchanges, the conference will invite renowned experts and scholars in the field of remote sensing for vegetation pests and diseases from both domestic and international institutions to engage in academic discussions. The Crop Pest and Disease Image Diagnosis Global Challenge, jointly organized by Manchester Metropolitan University and the Aerospace Information Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, will be held from May 29th to August 10th, 2023,with the main aim of facilitating the global collaboration across a wide range of communities and promote development of novel AI-enabled applications in agriculture, addressing food security and sustainability. The top 5 participants will be invited to co-author a summary paper on crop disease diagnosis methods, which will be submitted to the Special Issue of Remote Sensing. Relevant certificates and awards will be given.
